SETS
(images will open in popup-window)

The world of the movie was created by Johannes Rojola and Ville Pokki from cardboard with charcoal colours. In the first picture you see Pokki working with the Tapporalli-show sets. Also note the pages of the script on the floor. In the third picture you’ll see example of good set organization.
From these pictures you can see that exterior and interior of the restaurant were two different buildings.
The home of the family Rusanen. The set featured partly removable walls which helped to arrange camera angles. That way it become unnecessary to build whole house. Green walls behind the windows are there to create effect of forest.
The room of Veli-Pekka. Room is being decorated to support the ideas and thoughts of angst teenager.
The sets from G.O.R.E. gig-commercial. The light flickering effect seen in the movie is achieved with broken livingroom lamp.
Pamela’s garage-set.
Urban scenery used in Hermator T2 commercial.
The pit stalls of the Janakkala motor speedway. The picture shows that the roof was actually Rojola’s fine art sculpture.

SPECIAL TECHNIQUES
(images will open in popup-window)

Explosion effects were achieved with middle strength firecracker explosives. So-called “Big Chinese” in Finland. What is amazing is that no single brick went broken.
There were various ramps used in the movie to control in air movements of the cars. Also notice in second picture how’s Pamela’s car is being mounted onto the surface with tape to protect from excessive movements.
Various camera mountings. In the second picture you see the very handful dolly used in car-chase scenes. By changing the dolly’s tire placement the direction of the camera could be changed quickly.
When Sulo tipped the police car onto its wheels, he was really helped with wire attached to the car. In the second shot you can see small construction which made possible to change directions of the wires which were used to pull the cars. These complicated wire adjustments made final crash possible where two cars, both moving, crashed head on.
The proof for all skeptics that the helicopter was really filmed outdoors, and not indoors in front of window as stated.
