What is it all about with cult-classic Tapporalli 2020 sequel?
-Movie tells a small story almost 50 years after events of Tapporalli 2020. We are living in the Finland in year 2066, if we even can talk about Finland as a known country anymore. Tapporalli (“Killing rally”) is alive and in good shape, only at this time its not in control of anyone. Want it or not, person is the participant of this race, race of life and death. Some people purposefully try to get out this chain of anarchy, some people just don’t care.

How does this movie connect with the first part?
-That I don’t want to expose, but I can tell that some things has to be dig out from past and mix them with present new environment. This movie also works as an individual story when name “Killing rally” (Tapporalli 2020) has only symbolic meaning.

Why did Tuskavisio choose you to direct this movie instead of J Rojola?
-As being surprised of the Tapporalli 2020 non-commercial success Tuskavisio wanted to produce movie that would also, and only, be commercial success. When the first movie is avantgardistic cult-favorite they wanted the sequel to be spectacle that appeals for larger audience. In the very early phase of production Tuskavisio turned to me, but J Rojola has still worked as an assistant director and writer. So his views won’t be forgotten.

How does audience see the bigger budget of this movie?
-It can be seen and hear in everything: image quality, amount of actors, music and sound effects, special effects, sets, etc. Compared to first part, this movie features everything but for more, higher and louder.

First part is thought to be movie that raises questions. Does the sequel have anything to say from this point?
-You could say that this movie takes those thoughts which are raised in the first part into end adding new dimensions. Even this movie is almost all about action, we have not forgotten this part of the story. It’s being recycled to serve this movie in its own way.

Could you give an example of this?
-The main theme is the blindness of human kind for its own actions. We cannot tell the forest from the trees, if you know what I mean.

The fans are probably enthusiastic to know is there characters played by J Rojola and V Pokki?
-Yes, they both have roles in this movie. Also we will hear plenty of other actors too.

Last and the probably most important question, when will this movie be released?
-Because problems with production, we have been forced to delay this movie some times. To answer your question, probably in first quarter of 2005.
